Last night saw the 12th annual Ibiza DJ Awards take place at Pacha, with Dutch DJ/Producer Sander van Doorn walking away with the coveted accolade of 'Best Electro House DJ'. Sander beat the likes of Deadmau5, Mark Knight and Sebastian Leger to the award, which was judged on a public vote.

The win for Sander is the icing on the cake, afer a hugely successful year with his residency at Cream (Amnesia), the launch of his global club-night 'Dusk Till Doorn', playing to thousands at events including Mystery Land (closing set), remixing for artists including The Killers and producing stomping tracks such as 'Bastillon' and 'Bliksem'.

It may come as a surprise to many for Sander to win such a category but he is not one to pigeon hole his sound and his sets and productions have more than shown his versatile style this year. Sander commented, "Picking up an award in recognition of the year I've had in Ibiza is incredible. I won best newcomer last year, so to win the category I was in this year is fantastic, in fact just to be nominated in the same group as some of my peers here was an honour in itself. People may ask if I was in the correct category to begin with, but I've not been afraid to show my diverse and versatile styles this year, especially in Ibiza, and I think that comes across well in my 'Cream Ibiza' CD, a couple of the remixes I've done this year, and in my radio show and Podcast 'Identity'. I'd like to thank all my fans for voting for me."

Here's to the Top 100!
