We round off April with a real monster of a party. 2 great names
combine as one for a SUPERMAN party with head conductors FOAMO and LEE
MORTIMER rinsing the big basslines. Joining them will be GRAHAM BOND
and A1 BASSLINE. It’s going to be big!
Foamo has already established himself as one of the best producers to
come out of the UK in recent years. His very much liked productions
have gained many props from a range of big name DJs including the likes
of Diplo, Armand Van Helden and Rob Da Bank, which is pretty good
seeing as he’s still only in his early 20’s.
Known not only for his skills in the studio but also as a respected
DJ, last year saw him tour America and Australia, play to
festival-goers across the globe and earn an exclusive residency at Chew
the Fat! in the UK and at Space in Ibiza.
One of the next generation of dance music's elite he fuses together
loads of different styles with drum & bass, grime and garage all
thrown in to his bass heavy 4/4 productions.
After the success of his first single 'Moving It Over Here' gained
him international exposure his recent productions, including some huge
La Roux bootlegs, remixes for Diplo & Laidback Luke and 'It's Going
Down', his ridiculously heavy collaboration with tonight’s other guest
Lee Mortimer, have been supported by everyone from Annie Mac to DJ
Zinc.
Joining him for his second set at Shuffle will be Lee Mortimer. Lee
has slowly but surely been making a real name for himself on the house
scene over the last few years. If you're going to label it, and lord
knows every sound needs to have a name these days... his sound can be
described as ‘fidget'
Since his debut release Lee has turned out a ton of excellent
original tunes and remixes for labels such as CR2, Front Room
Recordings, Made To Play, and Switch's Dubsided Records, and has
garnered loads of support from his house music peers, with people as
diverse as Pete Tong, Claude Vonstroke, Dave Spoon and Derrick Carter
giving him plenty of love. Radio 1's Annie Mac has even singled him out
as ‘one to watch' this year.
DJ-wise Lee is equally praised, and he's been picked by London
uber-club monster Ministry of Sound to be their Saturday Sessions
resident, where he'll take his place every month alongside legends such
as Pete Tong, Mark Knight and Danny Howells. Basically we're all super
excited to have him take time out and make the journey up North to play
for us at Shuffle. Geoff and LJ both play a lot of his tunes so you've
all been dancing to some Lee Mortimer sounds at some point over the
last year, what a treat we have in store.
Over in the Live room it’s FLOORFILLERS bringing its Saturday night
magic into the venue for more weekend escapism.
Christopher Bibby and Ollie Hayes(Hallam FM) need no introduction.
At Shuffle they will be dropping the biggest dance anthems selected
from the best years of your life, mashed up to the bangers of now:
Dizzee meets Pendulum, Deadmau5 rubs up to David Guetta, whilst Calvin
breaks down into Faithless, Darude and the Prodigy.
They have presented specialist radio shows across the airwaves,
interviewed the stars and took on the finest of international dj's and
now they come back to play every week in the best city in the land,
Sheffield.
