Brit Award winning crowd favourite and all-round lovable rogue, Finley Quaye, has been added to this years fiercely anticipated Bloom Festival. Quaye be joining the likes of hot-on-the-scene Mr Vincent Frank a.k.a. Frankmusik, who will be bringing his kaleidoscope of vintage synths, beats and honest eccentricity. Next up is actor, poet and songwriter extraordinaire Johnny Flynn, hailed as the poster boy for the nu-folk scene and fresh from touring the globe, we have the highly touted English folktronica darling, James Yuill.
World-conquering DJ champions Scratch Perverts are another welcome addition to grace the 2009 Bloom line-up, where you can also enjoy the jazzy breaks of the drum’n’bass playing 30-piece London Breakbeat Orchestra and the cinematic, orchestral hip-hop of Speech Debelle.
Describing itself as ‘The Ultimate House Party in a Field’, Bloom festival is an explosion of both up-and-coming and established acts, blending music from a plethora of genres including electro, house, hip hop, funk, drum 'n' bass and anything else you can raise a warm can of Strongbow to. With its biggest and brightest line-up to date, this year’s event is shaping up to be one you just can’t miss.
Now in its fourth year, Bloom has grown from a modest 1,500 capacity party with two tents to a fully-fledged boutique extravaganza with six brimming stages. In the spirit of getting more bands for your buck, organisers have introduced a further four arenas and are selling weekend tickets for a mere £75 – one of the cheapest festival tickets available this year!
