One of this summer’s slow burners originally released on Germany’s Great Stuff Records, Data Records noticed this records potential and snapped it up, giving it a polish with sparkly new mixes from JCA, Raul Rincon and the Stantons and bobs yer uncle, a hit is born!
Coburn are electro-rockers Pete Martin and Tim Healey. Between them they write, perform and record all that is Coburn. Taking their name from the deceased Hollywood legend James Coburn, Pete & Tim started to become increasingly frustrated with the limitations of club music production somewhere around 1993 and in the last two years have set about testing the boundaries of what can be achieved until they had harnessed a brand new sound.
By intravenously plugging themselves into their massive record collection they injected their knowledge of dance beats and grooves straight to their love of ‘real songs’ and live instrumentation, the result is Coburn a monster of a sound designed to blow the listener away both live and at home.
‘We Interrupt This Programme…’ sneaked onto the scene at the beginning of the year with a tasty Einmuzik remix through GSR, having caught the ears of more clued up DJs as diverse as Carl Cox, Mylo, Audio Bullys, Tim Sheridan, Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Annie Mac, Zane Lowe and Eddie Temple Morris the track has gone onto something of an anthem. Licensed to 11 different territories, ‘We Interrupt…’ is also set to feature on the new Citroen C1 TV advertising campaign, further ensuring this track blows!
Now back with a fresh set of remixes thanks to Raul Rincon, JCA and kings of the beats the Stanton Warriors, you know big tings a gwan second time around.
