French Mr. Sam invented and nurtured his Opus concept back in 2007 and since then, annually catered the global trance community with not just another disposable trance compilation.

Once a year, one specific compilation emerges from the immense pile of compilation releases and differs itself from the rest through outstanding quality. French Mr. Sam invented and nurtured his Opus concept back in 2007 and since then, annually catered the global trance community with not just another disposable trance compilation. The Opus series stands for complete artistic freedom, where quality rather than quantity is priority. With the release of Opus Tertio, Mr. Sam once again underlines his exquisite taste in trance music.

The roaring mid seventies experienced the birth of what rapidly would become a fine artistic craftsman and a multi talented producer in his own right. Since 1995, Mr. Sam has pioneered his own musical style and showcased the art of DJ-ing in many clubs and on various events such as La Rocca, Mysteryland, Tomorrowland, Matrixx, Powerzone and Pacha, playing alongside DJ legends such as Carl Cox, Nalin & Kane, Robert Miles, Luke Slater and Misstress Barbara.

Sam’s choice of tracks during his many DJ sets were more than often translated onto silver discs. The release of Opus in July 2007 was praised by trance addicts worldwide and was succeeded with Opus Secundo in June 2008. Opus can be seen as a blue print of what one might expect when Sam is serving the crowd on any party, in any club, on any continent.

Late October 2009 sees the release of the long expected third volume in this series. As expected when Sam is in control of the tracklist, Opus Tertio serves 24 trance jewels handpicked from Sam’s personal vault of trance treasures. Both discs reflects the thoroughness of a man on a mission, exercising crucial judgments in the choice of titles for this album. All tracks have been exclusively composed for Opus Tertio, some by Sam personally, some in collaboration with hidden talents around the globe, some by fellow producers Mr. Sam encountered during his many travels.
