A trippy slice of dancefloor animé-pop that slinks out of the speakers like the audio equivalent of a Pokémon cartoon on industrial-strength acid. Love The World

Karoshi Bros. (karo:?i bro:z)
1. noun. studio monkeys flogged by barbed whips of electro-pop
2. verb. play with olds synths and heavy beats; experiment with new forms.
3. adj. twisted electronic popscapes.
singular. Karoshi Bro. one of the two; Karoshi A feeds on Paramount and bananas. Karoshi B feeds on Graceland and Shel Silverstein.

Woodville Recordings is a new imprint from Peter Jenkinson and Ben Davis, the visionary co-conspirators behind historic Manchester dance label Paper Recordings, who ushered in an exciting new age of house music back in the early 90s by breaking sought-after acts such as Crazy Penis, The Problem Kids, Those Norwegians and Salt City Orchestra, as well as nurturing the likes of Herbert, Kenny Hawkes, Eddie Flashin Fowlkes, and Erik Rug.

Ben commented, Woodville is going to ignore musical genres and formats by releasing music with a heart and a beat on anything that reaches eyes and ears. Expect nu-folk remixes of lounge on ringtones, tech-house takes on pop in film and acoustic versions of techno to download...not forgetting traditional CDs for long players! Fresh air is needed in music today and weve got lungs full of it.

Now Woodville are teaming up with Karoshi Bros to launch both the label, and brand new track Love the World, a trippy slice of dancefloor animé-pop that slinks out of the speakers like the audio equivalent of a Pokémon cartoon on industrial-strength acid. Arriving via a cosmopolitan route that took in China, Sweden, London and North-East England, Love the World comes complete with a slick set of remixes: a bout of peak-time mayhem from Magik Johnson, and some deep tech-soul from Flash Atkins. The forthcoming promo video also features genius animation from Mark Jobe.

Electronica impresarios Karoshi Bros began their career with little more to hand than an Akai S600 sampler and some vintage synths, and have since created an exceptional backlog of goodtime tunes, working with the venomously talented likes of producer Tom Elmhurst (Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse), Stephen Hague (Pet Shop Boys and New Order), and The Insects (who have written for Massive Attack).

The brothers sight an intriguing roster of influences and inspirations, ranging from Justice, Pink Floyd and Paul Simon to writers Roald Dahl, Dave Eggers, and Bill Waterson, and describe their philosophy as being: To cheat death long enough to leave some morsel of Karoshi in the cosmos.

With an electrifying catalogue of forthcoming projects due from Heavy Deviance, Flash Atkins, and Weirdo Records Mat Playford, Woodville Recordings look set to become an indelible fixture upon the dance scene. Theirs is a name to watch with a hawks eye. Heres to an unforgettable beginning!
