Masons 'Animal Language' imprint continues with its quality and unpredictable output with another double edge release to warm the dance floors in these darkening winter months.The Amsterdam based duo have squeezed in this latest release before all hell breaks loose with their debut album 'They Are Among Us'
Froghopper is classic curveball Mason. This Pure electronic funk fuelled affair is a throbbing bass heavy relentless slab of jackin house music. Tough, dirty and just a little bit mental 'Froghopper' comes on like a sack of crazed amphibians let loose with an analogue synthesizer and a bag of amphetamines.
The lighter side of Mason comes in the form of the cut-up disco of 'Tuf Tuf Club'. The title and track was inspired by the boys love of a popular Belgian comic from the 70s. Deft editing and a neck jerking funky slap bass line combines with staccato stabs and vocals to create an intelligent and dynamic tribute to the glitter ball.
Masons traditional 'Refurb' take the form of an exercise in world class scratchin from Dutch turntablist Kypski on 'Froghopper'. This guy tears up the ones and twos so well hes been banned from competing in Hollands DJ contests after winning it so many times! This is as random and engaging as a refurb can get.
