A vanguard personality of the industry, Funkagenda has received numerous accolades for his contribution to dance music and become a name solidly established on the global scene. With numerous anthems under his belt - released on world renowned labels such as Toolroom, Azuli, Size and Subliminal - and two nods at the Ibiza DJ Awards in 2008, a ‘Best British Breakthrough Artist’ award in 2009 from DJ Mag and a Grammy nomination in 2010 for his work with the Black Eyed Peas, Funkagenda could easily be excused for resting on his laurels. But intent on accruing his beat driven successes and musical character further, he is now diversifying into label management, A&R and liberating productions perhaps neglected by other music industry bods.

Funk Farm does exactly what it says on the tin. It’s a label to, um, farm funk. More or less. Aptly named, the Farm has been created to fulfil its founder’s mission of driving the progressive end of dance music; its sound is reflective of Funkagenda’s eclecticism and aims to encompass everything across the spectrum of tech-house, techno, house and trance. The ethos of the label is straightforward enough; quite simply, to put out good music. Solid beats will never lie fallow on the Funk Farm.

Solely a digital imprint, Funkagenda will be inviting like-minded and respected artists, whose music aligns well with his own, to release their work on Funk Farm. Kicking off in August 2010, with ThreeSixty and Paul Thomas already signed to the label, a precedent for musical excellence has already been set with the roster of artists. Musical innovation and integrity is the name of the Funk Farm game and with the increased and continuing success of its initiator, it is to be expected that the label becomes another touchstone of success for Funkagenda.
