As Circuit enters its second month at Sosho resident DJ Enzo Siragusa continues to programme the main room with a selection of some of the most essential artists in Europe, ensuring quality delivery of that pure deep house sound. Enzo is driving force behind the Circuit sound, whether that is from behind the decks or in selecting the right guest DJs to join us. For this first date in March he has invited over rising French star Seuil to entertain the Circuit faithful. A classically trained musician hailing from the French colony of Reunion, Seuil captured the imagination in 2006 with some great releases. Since then he has continued to enchant with a sound that ranges from lovely deep groovy themes to some quite dark rolling basslines. With releases on the likes of Moon Harbour and Freak’n’Chic, plus the development of his own Eklo label Seuil has continued to impress, as I’m sure he will at Sosho at the beginning of March.
Joining Seuil upstairs will be the ever popular Simon Morel. His versatile style highlights a wide love and knowledge of all shades of house music. As promoter and resident of DDD he has played with and held his own alongside some of the biggest names in dance music, like Claude Von Stroke and Dan Ghenacia, and we look forward to him bringing this experience to Circuit.
Setting the pace for our two guests will be a pair of our wonderful residents, Enzo Siragusa and Luke Miskelly. Luke is blessed with a fantastic ear for music, with the ability to spot a good track where others wouldn’t. Over the past couple of years he has really developed his sound and technical proficiency as a DJ to the point where he is a welcome and reassuring presence in the DJ booth at both Circuit and Fuse.
Joining our Circuit Disco Lounge resident Andy Bird this week is Rainer Truby Innovator, pioneer, musical connoisseur, trend setter, snappy dresser and all round good egg, this man’s been at it for time and shows no signs of stopping now….
The man’s credentials speak for themselves : Former member of internationally renowned project – A Forest Mighty Black, compiler of the still highly regarded Glucklich compilations on Compost, co compiler on “Talkin Jazz 3” with Gilles Peterson for Talkin Loud, has one of the most ridiculous record collections ever – as featured in the German edition of Playboy – utilised by many big hitters over the years as source material for their own productions – Jazzanova, Kruder, Christian Prommer, Roland Appel to name a few.
Rainer has been an integral part of the mighty Truby Trio and been DJing since the early 90’s, playing all over the world whilst also maintaining his legendary Rootdown clubnight which has played host to the great and the good including Carl Craig, Theo Parrish, Gilles Peterson, Laurent Garnier, Dixon, Ame – you get the picture!!
Also alongside Rainer we welcome the Wolf. Stu Clark is a young DJ with a big future ahead of him. A Southampton resident of the My Name is Nights Stu has a growing reputation through both his own parties and guest spots around the country. DJ wise, for those of you that have checked these guys out, you’ll know they know how to rock the bells…for those that haven’t keep an ear out for their podcast coming soon.
