With a delicious disco entrée dished up by the legendary Joey Negro presenting the Sunburst Band, Stereo Sushi’s sumptuous spread continues with the honeyed vocal dexterity of Elizabeth Troy’s ‘Higher Ground’ arousing the taste buds. The seamless chanteuse action continues with Maxine Braham on Cookie Monsterz’ ‘Let’s Ride’, before the Rhodes driven ‘Call On Me’ from Fanatix and the blissful jazz of Ethan White & Lisa Shaw’s ‘Find The Way’ add an appetising edge. With dishes from Danism & Kenny Bobien, Justin Michael & Secret Soul, Yolanda Wynn and Christian Alvarez & Andy Lee presenting Soulmates it’s tempting to have your fill before Aaron Ross’s ‘Love Potion’ closes proceedings on the delectable first serving.
Sushi’s second course is made with an equally mouth-watering recipe, giving Miguel Migs tender ‘Let Me Be’ a Petalpusher rub-down as Blaze’s steamy ‘Listen’ simmers with barely concealed passion. Lisa Mack’s throbbing ‘Where Do We Go’ leads perfectly into the bountiful Jill Scott as refixed by Sole Channel as the savoury sounds of Ralph GUM’s ‘Kissing Strangers’ and the Aaron Ross remix of Ron Gelfer’s ‘Your Beat Sounds Like’ keep the grooves flowing. With Justin Michael and Danism making welcome reappearances, Hed Kandi’s own Wez Clarke and the Gospel goodness of Yass feat Lt. Brown are left to wrap up another exquisite banquet from the Stereo Sushi kitchen. In celebration of another amazing instalment of Stereo Sushi the label will be decamping to Shoreditch for a truly stylish launch event faeturing Jamie Richards at the Tabernacle on 5th May.
