House music favourites Freemasons are back with a spanking new single and a video with some spanking! Good work brothers.
Last year, British dance music producers Russell Small and James Wiltshire teamed up with Amanda Wilson to produce the international phenomenon that was ‘Love On My Mind’. In February 2006 the team you know and love as the Freemasons return with their latest tune ‘Watchin’. Described as ‘another dose of piano-laced disco,’ Watchin is already being hailed as an instant dance floor classic. IHOUSEU caught up with producer and DJ Russell Small to discuss the tune, the down right dirty video and why the Brit Awards are a bit bollocks.
Freemasons latest single Watchin is already getting a good airing on major radio stations - thanks largely to its heavenly sounds of ‘boogie-licious disco-funk.’ Released in late February 2006, the follow up to the massively successful ‘Love On My Mind’ looks set to rock the dance floor once again. Traditionally, the follow-up release to a major tune is often seen as a giant, unassailable hurdle. Freemasons Russell Small isn’t too worried though, in fact, he’s quite laid back about the whole thing. “We’re very pleased with the result, especially the vocals from Amanda which are, as ever, quality. I don’t see this as a ‘follow up single’ because we simply make records we like and get them out there to the public. It’s a continuation more than anything.
