RELEASED: 29 MAY 2006

Following the successful re-introduction of Nu Cool, Hed Kandi’s year of heritage continues with Serve Chilled, one of the original Kandi albums, returning from a five-year hiatus.

Not just a record label, but a lifestyle choice, Hed Kandi has grown from a modest concern as a compilation imprint, into the leading world-wide brand.  As a label, radio show and international club night, they have attracted music lovers from across the board, with their all-embracing approach to club sounds.  Their driving desire to take the music to a wider audience has seen them established as kingpins of the movement and the first choice of the discerning listener.

The Yang to Winter Chill’s Yin, Serve Chilled is the musical equivalent of the sun beating down on the back of your neck, every track screams summer! Hed Kandi’s secret is their ability to soundtrack every aspect of the culture, from the hands in the air euphoria of a scorching club night on Disco Heaven to the horizontal grooves of a heat-wave served up on Serve Chilled, they’ve got it covered.

Marking its illustrious return, this instalment of Serve Chilled, embodies the gamut of feel good vibes. Setting the scene for a blissfully chilled odyssey, the rolling cool of 4Hero’s Conceptions, blends luxuriantly into Jazzanova’s infectious Bohemian Sunset and on into an enchanting mix of the Balearic electronica of Cagedbaby and chilled Latin of Ganga.

Soundtrack legend Henry Mancini’s Lujon nestles alongside the lounge sounds of Nouvelle Vague’s sublime reading of (This is Not) A Love Song. Lemon Jelly’s Nick Franglin pulls off a lush remix of Hey Negrita’s ‘Losing You’ for a moment of sizzling beauty. And Hed Kandi favourites Afterlife make their presence felt with a pair of gilt edged groovers that will gladden the hearts of those in the know and leave newcomers in no doubt as to what it’s all about.
