Garlands’ Live Madness!

Leave your problems and inhibitions at the door, Garlands will transport you to another dimension...

Bank Holidays are a special time. An extra day segued into the weekend, it means that the Sunday which normally promises nothing more than roasts, bad TV and the imminent beginning of another week of drudge in the office suddenly opens up to a fantastically open possibilities. Elbowing Saturday aggressively out of the prime time slot, it reclaims the glory and throws up events that instil a lacquer of saliva upon the chin of clubbers across the land, leaving wide eyed rave warriors inching for the Sunday crusade.

One establishment that’s knows more than most about throwing a soiree on the Sabbath is the perennial party organisers Garlands, Liverpool’s glamour heavy stalwarts who stitch together the kind of rambunctious collages that sum up bank holiday partying. Desire, their flagship bank holiday promotion, turns seven this May, and to celebrate they’ve gone flat out. Their heady blend of hedonistic excess comes replete with a music soundtrack geared for pure escapism at all costs, adding a scintillating section of performance and wild attitude to the proceedings which ensures a completely no holds barred approach to clubbing. Leave your problems and inhibitions at the door, Garlands will transport you to another dimension…

The music for this shindig is gloriously provided by the regular Garlands cast, each DJ a Liverpool legend and the most astute at delivering the tunes which drive the Scouse party animals crazy. They’re joined by a very special live PA from Peyton, whose deliciously funky grooves have had house fans entranced since his first release on Hed Kandi back in 2003. The son of an evangelist preacher, Peyton’s tracks are constantly tinged with a gospel edge and a hymn like quality, evident on the stunning ‘A Higher Place’, ‘Give Thanks’ and ‘Celebrate’. He’s sure to leave the clubbers reaching for the heavens in praise for his immense talent.

And if that wasn’t enough, one week later they’re injecting some PA goodness into their Saturday program with another party proving they pile on the fun each and every weekend just as emphatically as they do on the Holidays. This week Katharine Ellis is joining, the UK house diva a true veteran having been part of vocal house and speed garage legends Ruff Driverz, and more recently the epic voice behind Joey Negro’s superfluous ‘Make a move on me’. Her gloriously powerful voice is sure to leave a long lasting impression.
