Voted two years running as the Best Major European Festival by the European Festival Awards, Heineken Open’er Festival is renowned for its phenomenal artist line-up, beautiful surroundings and incomparable atmosphere. In its tenth year the festival will yet again bring the best of all things musical as well as expanding to give festival goers a cultural mix of arts, fashion, dance, crafts and photography; ensuring that Heineken Open’er Festival yet again claims its place as the best major festival.

Fashion has always been present at Heineken Open’er and for the past three years the festival has supported up and coming designers by offering a unique and respected platform to exhibit in front of an avid audience and industry insiders. 2011 sees Polish designers bring everything from avant-guard to haut-cature to outlandish screen printing, providing a colourful and unique backdrop to the 80,000 person festival. Designers include, experimental DUD.ZIN.SKA, non-conforming Bartosz Malewicz and Academy of Fine Arts in Lodz graduate, Hyakinth, aka Jacek Klosinski and many more.

Throughout the past decade the world has undergone a global transformation in terms of pollution and recycling. Heineken Open’er Festival is leading the way, offering the chance for children visiting the festival to learn new and creative ways to save the planet. Artists from different cultures throughout the world will be teaching unique and innovative ideas to transform everyday waste into something priceless. Acting as a meeting place for global traditions and ideas, the Heineken Open’er Kids Zone is set to be a melting pot of learning, playing and creativeness. 2011 also sees The First Silent Disco In Poland, Heineken Open’er will yet again be leading the way for European festivals offering festival goers two radio channels to tune into every day from 4pm to 6am.

Alter Space, Heineken Open’er’s culture and arts area, continues to grow in 2011 combining visual arts, film and music, offering a peaceful moment among an otherwise bustling festival site. Heineken Open’er Festival will also feature a retrospective photography exhibition capturing the biggest icons and classic moments from festival goers and organisers from the past decade. In addition to the photographs, the exhibition will also feature souvenirs including wristbands, programmes and posters. Globally recognised art-house films will be screened throughout the four day celebration taking festival goers into the night with a sense cinematic beauty.

Heineken Open’er takes place from Thursday 30th June to Sunday 3rd July in Gydnia, Poland. Having firmly secured its position as one of the biggest and best festivals in Europe, the festival has subsequently been honoured at the last two European Festival Awards picking up the Best Major Festival in both 2009 and 2010. The anniversary addition of Heineken Open’er Festival will not only be full of surprises but festival goers will also be able to see the entire celebration right below their feet whilst they ride on a 100ft Ferris Wheel with a weight of over 60tons!

The festival’s outstanding value at only £79 for a weekend camping pass means no music fan will want to miss this year’s festival. Combined with reasonable air travel from either Wizz Air or Ryan Air, it has never been a better time for UK festival goers to experience their musical favourite music for less.
