Smokin Jo returns with her first production since “What Is This”, the melodic deep house track which featured the renowned Marc Romboy.
“Native Dance” is a tribal tech sizzler that would appeal to lovers of both melodic and driven forms of House music. The tune is centred around an African-style vocal sample that builds throughout which is accompanied by an array of crisp beats and tight percussive stabs. The track also features a punchy, groovy bassline which all combine to create a fine slice of deep rolling House that would work well on any dancefloor.
“Now What” is an uptempo, tribal driven track which makes you want to move. With its sub heavy soild bassline, a bouncy jacking beat, a clean arrangement and a sharp percussive element this is guaranteed to do some damage on the dancefloor.
“Big Teeth”, is the most minimal of the package. The track contains a smoky vocal loop which rolls alongside a set of grainy conga and bongo samples and a nice jazzy piano snippet that develops later on. All this combines to form an easygoing, after-hours sound which complements the other two tracks perfectly.
Here Smokin Jo has proved yet again that she’s no stranger to the realms of production and has delivered a selection of tracks that are sure to get noticed in the scene.
