After the success of the first Kidda album, ‘Going Up’ including two high profile syncs (Bacardi andWarner leisure) and the Herve remix of ‘Under The Sun’ which was one of the biggest dance tracks of 2008, Kidda took a step back, released a remix album (‘Go Up To Get Down’), and now has a brand new long player to unleash on the world!
‘Hotel Radio’is more pop than dance with radio-friendly three-minute pop anthems that zing with joie de vivre alongside your Daft Punk dancefloor fillers and the first single ‘Wanna Be Loved’ was released 1st August featuring remixes from Stupid Fresh and Benji Boko.
Kidda has enlisted the aid of a broad sweep of singers ranging from fellow tunesmith Lee Baker, Barry Dobbin (Clor), JenDalby (Gloria Cycles) and Laura Vane (as heard on the first single and on the recent Street’s ‘OMG’ single). Assoon as the opening track ‘Speak In Numbers’ hits you – you’re off on a magical Kidda ride, as sure as anything to lift your spirits this summer.
“I listened back to the first album recently, and it just seemed to have gaping holes in it where words should’ve been,” the man himself reflects. “They’re filled in now, I just feel this time it’s more substantial - everything’s there.It’s a lot more fun.”
His ear for a catchy hook has helped, with no need to do the sample thing anymore. ‘Hotel Radio’ is testament to Kidda’s ability to craft irresistible feel good pop. To promote ‘Hotel Radio’, Kidda is formulating a live set-up involving an animated screen show which will hit a venue near you in October. Live sequences synced to animation on the screen, and vocalists from the album effectively making up Kidda the band.
