What have been your highlights as a DJ this year, internationally and in Ibiza?
I've had an incredible year so far! My Ibiza highlights were my set in July on the terrace of Amnesia, returning to Space, and then playing the main room in Amnesia in August. It was an incredible crowd who seemed to be completely open and happy to go where I wanted to take them. Add to this list playing Plastikman live at Amnesia, and I honestly feel more welcome on Ibiza this year than ever before! Other events.... man, it would have to be when I played at a fruit stand in Barcelona. We Love Minus near Nice, France as well. Cavo in Mykonos, 10 days off in Belgium, Minus Adventure in the Woods.... should I continue??!?
How would you define the genre of ´Techno´ in 2011, and what must the perfect techno track reflect?
Techno is “Gaiser - Some Slip”.
How will you celebrate if you win this award?
I´ll go to the Fish Shack on the rocks near Sa Punta (Talamanca) with all my friends. Pre-ordered sole for everyone!! It's even better than their delicious dorada. I´ll order some wine, get drunk and then go find/start/crash an after-party and get crazy!!
What´s your plans for 2012?
In 2012 I hope to be listening to the sounds emanating from my studio speakers as I work on new Plastikman material.
The DJ Awards has some special awards not voted for by the public – one of which is “Best Ibiza Track.” What are your biggest tunes of the summer so far?
Mathew Jonson – “Learning to Fly” and. Plastikman – “Krakpot” (Moby remix).
