One of Ibiza’s most renowned clubs, Amnesia, presents an essential collection of club anthems from 1990 through to 2011. Featuring the likes of Orbital, Slam, Sven Vath, X-Press 2, Underworld, Swedish House Mafia, deadmau5, Tensnake and Tiesto, this compilation defines over two decades of clubbing anthems from the infamous White Isle.
Amnesia is home to some of the islands most famous and popular club nights, including, Cream, Cocoon, La Troya, and Matinée, where regular line-ups feature the likes of Paul van Dyk, Sven Vath, Laidback Luke, Laurent Garnier and Above & Beyond. 2011 is set to be a summer to remember as MTV and Tonight launch two of the most exciting Ibiza events, with the likes of Duran Duran, Snoop Dogg, Primal Scream, Annie Mac, Eric Prydz and Layo and Bushwacka on the bill. The big name DJ’s and mix of music make it one of the biggest and best dance party venues in the world.
The history of Amnesia really began in April 1970, when the island turned into a meeting point for hippies and hedonistic seekers alike. Surviving closures and memorable summers, the club finally cemented its position as one of the island's premier nightspots in the late eighties with the birth of the Balearic movement and in turn, Acid House. Over the years the clubbing Mecca has become one of Ibiza’s most iconic and best-loved nightclubs. Winning ‘Best Global Club’ in 07’, 08’, 09’ and 2011 at WMC’s International Dance Music Awards, proving the clubs popularity and longevity.
Amnesia Ibiza Anthems is spread over 4CDs, each disc takes on a lustrum of club classics from 1990 right through to 2011. CD01 takes on 2006 – 2011 featuring recent Ibiza anthems from, Paul Kalkbrenner ‘Sky & Sand’, Tensnake ‘Coma Cat’, Mark Knight & Funkagenda ‘Man With The Red Face’, Swedish House Mafia ‘One’, Laidback Luke & Steve Aoki ft. Lil John Turbulence (Sidney Samson Remix) and Axwell’s latest banger ‘Heart Is King.
CD02 takes us a little deeper covering hits from 2001 – 2005 including Kings of Tomorrow ‘Finally’, Soul Central ‘Strings Of Life’ (Martijn ten Velden & Mark Knight Toolroom Mix), Silicone Soul ‘Right On’, Junior Jack ‘E Samba’, Who Da Funk ft. Jessica Eve ‘Shiny Disco Balls’, Depeche Mode ‘I Feel Loved’ (Danny Tenaglia's Labor Of Love Edit) and The Egg ‘Walking Away’ (Tocadisco Remix).
