Second part in our series of postcards from Ibiza
A BIT DIFFERENT:
Taste Ibiza
“I’ve got two vouchers for this night out, do you want to come?” “Of course I do!” Pretty easy start to the night and to be honest the night carried on that way. The ‘vouchers’, it turned out, were for a night out called ‘Taste Ibiza’ a chance to sample some food and drink from Ibiza – nice one.
The £50 (ish) ticket allowed me and (at the beginning of the night) about fifteen strangers to, as a group, be escorted by able entrepreneurs and hosts Roy and Juliette. The idea is that through the night you all informally go to three different bars sampling Spanish fare, with our hosts giving us the low down on what we were consuming as we went. A starter in the first with Cava Sangria went down well and loosened the proceedings, a short walk to the second for a main course accompanied by Rioja got us in a very Mediterranean mood and by the third port of call with deserts and Rosé, a great bond was formed, we had a laugh and we learnt something along the way.
All being said, I’m not normally up for this sort of thing (I am a grumpy sod sometimes), but it was great value for money and I’m really glad I went... “Where are you off to?” Roy asked, “You’ve also got Pacha entrance included in the price of the ticket, let’s go!”
Verdict: 3 Iconic Bars, 3 Course Meal, 3 Drinks and 1 VIP Club night all for only €69 = Bargain!
