Koolwaters Recordings is finally here, with the long awaited debut release by Marc Vedo, the head honcho of the worldwide clubbing brand that is Koolwaters events.
Marc Vedo is a DJ come producer who is no stranger to the heights of success, having clocked up as many air miles as most globe trotting DJ’s, playing around the world for clubs such as Godskitchen, Cream, Gatecrasher, Avalon, Spundae, The Guvernment, Fabric, Turnmills and Ministry of Sound to name only a few. While Marc has now decided to launch his own label imprint, he has already had many successful releases on legendary labels like Baroque Records and Five AM Records, which has seen his tracks feature on global compilations by Ministry of Sound and Hed Kandi, with Paul van Dyk more recently using “Fast Track” on his Cream Ibiza compilation of 2008.
“Only Love” oozes quality throughout every mix featured, with the Original mix being an energetic electro monster featuring haunting vocals and a lovely guitar riff that has reminiscence of Gabriel & Dresden type productions. There’s also a Dub version for those of you who prefer no vocals. Then we have the high profile remixers who haven’t disappointed. HOT in form producer Kid Massive has delivered one of his trademark ‘Audio Damage’ remixes, really giving this package the edge as he has completely ripped up the original and made it into one of his own dirty electro masterpieces. Then lastly we have a legends remix, by none other than Alistair Whitehead jumping in the studio with anthem producing N-Joy alongside Marc Vedo to deliver a classic house mix that would be perfect for any funky occasion.
All in all, a great start to launch his own label with a high profile release featuring mixes to tickle everybody’s taste buds.
