Tim Mason is joining Bitch in Manchester to help celebrate their gargantuan 5th Birthday celebrations so we thought it only right to grab five minutes with the up coming star himself and see what type of cake is his favourite…

Thanks for taking the time to speak to us Tim, are you looking forward to your trip to Manchester?

- Thanks for having me and taking the time to chat. Really hyped to play Bitch in Manchester, get me behind those decks right now!

For the short time you’ve been in the business you’ve made some huge waves and impressed some pretty big names. Your debut release was picked up by Size Records head honcho Steve Angello, could you believe your luck?

- I was so excited when I finished that track, it had Size and Steve Angello written all over it. Still can’t believe I managed to get it to his ears and it’s getting supported like it is. The hairs on my neck still stand up when I see the reaction it gets no matter who plays it

The support “The Moment” got from the industry heavyweights like Tiesto, Dirty South and David Guetta must have cemented your confidence in your talents in the studio, did you realise what a big hit you were making at the time?

- No not at all

Being in Brighton, a very famous party town, did you want to be involved in music from a young age?

- I don’t know anyone that loves music that wouldn’t want to be involved with music from whatever age they realise they love it. I am so lucky to be living it.

What DJs or Producers have always inspired you?

- So many! Daft Punk, Stuart Price and Chris Martin are definitely in there

What can we expect to see from you for what’s left of 2011?

- Lots of hands in the air ha ha

Arno Cost is on the line up with you, have you seen him play before?

- Yes and I’m really excited to be on the line up with him

Checking out your Facebook page we see you’re off to Canada on tour soon, have you been before? What have you found different about international gigs compared to UK gigs?

- The long flights and time away from home, I love my bed!

It’s Halloween weekend on Bitch’s Birthday, if you could Trick or Treat anyone in the world, who would it be?

- Puff Daddy. I’d imagine it to be like that scene out of Get Him To The Greek ha ha

What’s your technology of choice in the studio?

- Logic

You’ve produced some cracking remixes as well as original material; can you explain to us how you go about it? Do you instantly know where you want to take the original?

- It’s all about that initial idea and rolling with it, I think it’s important to have time away from the studio to allow for inspiration. I find I’m most inspired when I least expect to be ha ha

You remixed a track of Angello and Alex Metric that had Ian Brown vocals on, what other music do you like outside of house? Are you a fan of Manchester band The Stone Roses?

- The Stone Roses are amazing. I really love a lot of music, other forms of electronic music, experimental; some pop records are undeniably massive. I’m also a huge fan of bands like Coldplay, Radiohead and Muse

For those Bitch followers that haven’t seen you perform before, what can they expect?

- Hopefully to smile and dance a lot, and probably have their hands in the air for quite a bit too!

And lastly, probably most importantly, what is your favourite type of cake?

- Banana cake… Every time

Thanks for your time Tim and we can’t wait to see you at Bitch Manchester!!

Thank you guys for having me and for taking the time to chat
