After two hugely successful years of growth and due to such a huge demand, Junk has decided to expand into the basement.
Since its opening in June 2005, with its plush, decadent interior, huge sound-rig, unrivalled on the South coast, high caliber bookings, with DJ’s including Joey Negro, Tim Sheridan and Axwell, and big name acts, such as Roy Ayers and The Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Junk has become the number one destination for clubbers all across the South coast attracting people from Bristol, London, Portsmouth, Exeter and further.
In the words of some of our biggest guest DJ’s Junk has always had high praise since the start. As Dave Spoon from Toolroom Records described “Junk captures the unique South Coast atmosphere” and Funkagenda from Ministry Of Sound said “My Favourite South Coast Club”.
Junks growth is evident with their interest from global brands including Ministry of Sound, Pukka Up and house music’s biggest record label Defected. Their globalization also took them out to Miami this year for the 2007 WMC (Winter Music Conference) where they held an event alongside legendary DJ’s Bobby and Steve (Garage City).
Junk have also made steps into Ibiza this year with resident DJ and head honcho Simon Aston performing an exclusive set at the world famous superclub Pacha with Pete Tong, Joe T Vanelli and Matt Caseli.
Junk’s new second room in the basement, aptly named Junk Box, will become the perfect destination for early drinking from 8pm whilst also whipping up a frenzy when it transforms into the second room when the main room is open.
Once again no expense will be spared to bring you the best in comfort, music and atmosphere in an intimate and stylish environment. The Junk Box will also feature additional bar services, table service, leather lounge seating along with an alternate DJ / sound system to rival upstairs.
The Junk main room is also undergoing a full transformation with; new exclusive bookable VIP areas, a new larger relocated DJ booth and additional sound and acoustic treatment along the walls making the club look, sound and feel better than ever.
Junks Box’s opening will feature an exclusive 8pm opening with a champagne reception, CD giveaways, dancers, percussionist, saxophonist and DJ’s on both floors including Mark Doyle the former owner and DJ for the massive dance music label Hed Kandi.
