Adam White was signed to Perfecto Records, one of the best-known and respected labels in Dance Music history, at the end of 2007. His earlier achievements include remixes for Paul Oakenfold, while his latest original pieces mark the beginning of a reinvention of his sound, which Adam hopes to deliver and evolve track after track.
Adam has now released a sample pack on Loopmasters.com, which is full of the hottest sounds, melodies and effects that are a major factor in his productions and remixes for Perfecto. Alongside the many samples in this pack you'll find loops and midi-files, all with that familiar Perfecto sound. We take a few moments of Adam’s time to find out a bit more about his pack as well as other projects he’s been working on and what the future holds for him.
Hi Adam, how you doing today?
Good thanks. I’ve been busy mixing and mastering, so a fairly standard day for me
How has 2011 been for you?
2011 has taken a different direction, which has made for a really interesting year. My career as a DJ has taken a back seat and I've been doing a lot more in the studio. Musically, I've worked on some much more diverse projects too. I've worked on some great House projects, some more commercial chart based productions and even some urban stuff which I've loved. I think I've really found my feet as a diverse music producer this year.
What’s been your greatest achievement this year?
This year I started working with Loopmasters. The year started with the release of my 'Perfecto Trance Studio Tools' sample pack, which was very successful. I've also released a sound set pack under my 'Monomade' guise and my latest progressive house pack is due to be released in December. I also represented Loopmasters at 'Producer Sessions Live' in London in September, which was a huge honour for me. My management at 'Komplete Music Group' have been really supportive this year so I have a lot to thank them for.
Could you tell us a bit more about your new Loopmasters release?
The new pack is essentially based around the progressive house sound taking influences from artists such as Pryda and Kaskade. There is also a very 'big room' flavour to allot of the loops and sounds included in the pack from which I drew influence from artists such and Axwell and Michael Woods. It's packed full of drum, percussion and musical loops with a whole host of sample patches to help enhance your productions all acidized to work with your DAW.
Who is this pack intended for?
The pack is very diverse so there is something in there for producers of genres across house, progressive house and even some progressive trance. If you're a beginner or seasoned professional then there are plenty of elements included in the pack to add to your existing sample library or start your library from scratch. The musical elements are constructed simply and will be simple to transpose so if you're not as musically minded as you wish you were you'll be putting together melodies and chord progressions before you know it.
Have there been any disasters in or out of the studio?
I recently updated my Mac in the studio to a new faster Intel model - during the transfer of all my audio, my back-up drive failed and I almost lost everything. Luckily I managed to recovered most of what I thought was lost. Taught me a valuable lesson about more than one back-up drive!
Who has been the most enjoyable person to work with?
I've worked with some very talented people in the last twelve months but it's been nice hooking up with some producers from different genres. Ant Brooks and Jason Herd have been great fun to work with and hang out with in the studio. Early next year, Andy Moor and myself are getting back together to relight the 'Whiteroom' flame so I am really looking forward to that.
What have you got coming up in the next few months?
I have several projects to finish that I am working on with other artists and I've just finished a remix for Drum & Bass producer John B, which I am really excited about. Turning a 174 bpm DNB track into a 4 to the floor club record is a great challenge and I love challenges like that.
What does the future hold for Adam White?
Music, music and more music (plus getting fitter)
