Acid Invaders talk to IhouseU about the industry and how they started..

Describe how you first got started in music. Where are you based and when did you start producing. What was your 1st track and what happened with it?

A couple of years ago during the biggest festival in Belgium called Rock Werchter I saw two guys playing a great gig in the Pyramid Marquee. It was an amazing show, so loud and so big and everybody was crowd surfing. I was so impressed that from that moment on I decided to make music myself. That band was Daft Punk.

Acid Invaders are based in Brussels and we sent our first track to national Belgian radio stations and were surprised as they picked up on "Rave On Kids" and some added it to their playlists and we didn't have a record company.

Your first release "Rave On Kids" made quite a dent on the dancefloor and can you tell us who picked up on it and how you came to record it.

We recorded this song straight after Davy's recent trip to New York. It was the first single track for Acid Invaders so we didn't know what reactions we would get. 'Rave on Kids' was played on Scott Mills' Floorfillers Radio 1 show, XFM, Kiss 100,and it was tweeted by Radio 1's Edith Bowman, The Infadels and even played on the in-store radio of the House of Fraser department store throughout the UK. We couldn't believe it!

Your current release "Change/Innovation" is starting to build on promo and tell us about the forthcoming Remix from Kevin Saunderson and how that came about

When "Change" and "Innovation" were almost ready, we went to a party in Brussels where Kevin Saunderson was playing together with Derrick May.

It was the day after the famous Awakenings Festival in the Netherlands in June 2011. We gave Kevin the tracks and he seemed to like "Change" a lot as he proposed to remix it right there. Yesterday we received  the remix and it just sounds amazing. This is great news for our own Introduce label, who are releasing it in September.

Do you run your own label and what's the plan for 2011 and beyond in terms of releases, remixes, and gigs/ radio shows

Its very busy right now, and as soon as we've delivered the latest release, "Change & Innovation", we will finish our first LP and play a few gigs. The debut album as yet untitled is expected at the beginning of next year.
We run our own label, Introduce Records, and we are also planning to release remixes from producers we like as much as Kevin Saunderson or Derrick May.

Do you have any favourite tunes that you have produced and if so why? Who has championed your sound what are your biggest biggest achievements to date.

When LCD Soundsystem decided to quit, we did a remix of their track "Tribulations". We had great time making it, and got amazing reactions and the track was blogged and downloaded a lot.

What are your biggest influences and how do you think the Belgian music scene has helped contribute to your sound and shape you. How is it going for you in Belgium in terms of gigs.

Our music influences include producers such as Robert Babicz or the Dahlback Brothers, Boys Noize and Errol Alkan side by side.

When we think about the Belgian scene, our models are Soulwax and Shameboy. We've played a lot in Belgium but Dour Festival and Tomorrow Land are the most surprising and funny ones. We have also played  the big festivals, Rock Werchter and Pukkel Pop, which everybody is very proud about.

Has the digital revolution helped you take off and what do you think of music industry right now

The digital revolution, as you call it, has opened many gates to new countries. Of course, it's impressive how everybody can reach so many people and countries with their music in only one hit.
