Kaluki at Sankeys – Saturday August 11th
Sleazoid electro-house and glitchy techno will form the basis of the August edition of Kaluki - the Manchester club party, which fuses ultra slick with a healthy dash of not-too-cool for school, to present one of feistiest and busiest nights of the North.
Serving up a huge helping of self-styled chunky beats is Dutchman Ren Amesz; a producer responsible for more than his fair share of 2007 peek time favourites. His penchant for cheeky bootlegs and reworks of classics such as Faithless Insomnia and Red Hot Chilli Peppers By The Way have been dominating global dance floors; while original tracks such as Pills rouse similar reactions. One of the busiest and most consistent current producers the ex-professional footballer turned international jock will touch down at Sankeys on 9th August as part of his world tour fresh after laying down his first ever Radio One Essential Mix.
Bristol based techno maven Jamie Anderson will join Amesz to showcase Kalukis darker side with a super-stylish montage of minimal, techno and acid house. At the forefront of the international tech and house scene for the last 10 years the Fixia label owner who has played everywhere from the cool enclaves of Berlins Panorama Bar to Channel 4 will offer up an futuristic outlook on todays techno genre with his range of decktastic skills which merges live elements with traditional DJing skills.
Kalukis ubertastic DJ resident team of Clark Kent and DJ Ellesse will top and tail the headliners executing their super- powers alongside local heroes Chris Da Mentalist, Paul Spencer, Jenny Harris and Mike Godsmark.
