Soul Mekanik are true innovators and early inventors of house music, continually inflicting their touch on many corners of the genre over 20 years in the game. Now they share their wealth of experience in a special radio show series for local 6 Towns radio in their home of Stoke on Trent.
Soul Mekanik are Kelvin Andrews & Danny Spencer, two siblings that have produced the infamous Robbie Williams, remixed the likes of Sister Sledge, The Doobie Brothers and Aretha Franklin, and been lauded as acid house heroes. Kelvin was one of the first DJs pushing the incendiary sounds back in the late 80s, while Danny forged his way onto Top of the Pops and the cover of Smash Hits thanks to his brief flirtation with proper high street fame as a member of Candy Flip).
Together they have helped soundtrack some of the last two decade's most symphonic moments. Now for the first time they team up for a special regular radio slot, voyaging into the depths of their musical vaults and sharing some forgotten gems and heralded classics with a loyal audience and broad fanbase.
Kelvin Andrews (Soul Mekanik) "This is going to be so much fun. RadiO WoNk is really the culmination of a life long obsession with underground dance music. You can expect to hear us get excited about hot records old and new, with plenty of exclusive tracks, and some exciting guests lined up for the coming weeks. Off the beaten track disco madness and mixed up WoNk party classics from 30 years of that house music feeling."
Tune in at www.6towns.co.uk, where there's a player or a host of other ways you can find the show.
