Metric return with new single ‘Gold Guns Girls’ out April 26th. The track is to be released from the forthcoming re-release of their critically acclaimed album ‘Fantasies’, out on May 24th.
The lightning charged four piece have moulded a sound crackling with energy and a strikingly heart felt sentiment. ‘Gold Guns Girls’ taps into the band’s lofty vault of experience, which never fails to lend a pertinence and immediacy to their work.
Emily Haines’ seductive and distinguished vocal on the track is accompanied by James Shaw’s explosive guitar riffs; creating a perfect hook-driven return for the band. The single recently became a top 20 hit on commercial radio in the US – their second from the 'Fantasies' album.
The combination of glistening harmonies and a solid rhythm section courtesy of Josh Winstead (Bass) and Joulse Scott-Key (Drums) provides the perfect introduction to the new deluxe edition of ‘Fantasies’.
Initially released in 2009, Fantasies was embraced with the open arms of fans and critics alike. The new deluxe edition of fantasies will include the full original album plus a bonus disc holding an essential selection of remixes, covers and acoustic tracks.
With combined album and ticket sales recently surpassing the mark of one million units, it's time for Metric to take on the UK and replicate this success, once more doing it off their own bat and on their own terms.
