Point Blank have released their latest free Logic Pro tutorial videos taken from our new Dubstep Pro Producer Course in Logic which launches in August 2011.

The first video delves into LFO (low-frequency oscillation), a function found on many synthesizers such as Logic’s ES2, and the foundation of the classic wobble bass which is very popular with producers of tear-out dubstep. Danny J Lewis uses the frequency analyser to explain exactly what is happening to the sound waves when you add LFO. Watch it here

The second video demonstrates a free downloadable scale correction tool for Logic which is very useful, especially for those who aren’t musically trained and struggle with the theory side. It allows you to select a specific scale and if you play a note which is not in that scale, it is automatically remapped to one that is, much like Ableton Live’s Scale plugin. Watch it here

Award-winning music school Point Blank Online has seen so many students come through its virtual doors wanting to learn how to make Dubstep using Ableton Live that they’ve converted their ground breaking learning program to Apple Logic Pro due to popular demand.

As Dubstep develops as a genre, so the Point Blank team  takes this opportunity to update the course material as well as convert to Logic from Ableton. Now they are covering a broader base of styles designed to help you create ribcage rattlers, chilled grooves, experimental dubs or something edgier. It’s packed with techniques and insights that will satisfy the most raging Dubstep thirst! With 1-2-1 video feedback from a pro producer each week - DVR™ - your tracks will improve quicker than you can say 'wobble bass'! If you've got the groove in you, this class will bring it out.

Co developers for the Dubstep Course are Jonny Miller and Danny Lewis. Jonny is an acclaimed producer, DJ and label manager who has racked up releases on labels including Aquatic Lab, Sidestepper Recordings, K7 and Twisted Funk. Jonny examines a broad range of production techniques from bass heavy dubs through to more techno influenced flavours. Point Blank’s own Danny J keeps the Brosteppers happy with scientific analyses of a range of heavy artillery: out there sound design techniques and 2-step flavours broken down for you logically, step-by-step.

In addition to 1-2-1 video feedback, tutors also host a weekly live Masterclass where students can discuss that week’s content, raise technical questions and share information. Course materials including video tutorials, project files, audio resources, DVR™ and detailed course notes are available to students for a full year from enrolment.

Class sizes are strictly limited and enrolment is now underway. If you would like to learn more then head to http://www.pointblankonline.net/dubstep-course---logic.php  where you can view a full summary of the course and watch free sample videos.

Point Blank is an Approved Training Centre for both Apple and Ableton Live and has been voted “Best Music Production School” for six consecutive years at the annual T-Scan Awards.
