Young American electronic music fans were arrested violently at Washington’s Jefferson Memorial this week for ‘dancing’ after they gathered there to protest against new laws banning dancing at sites authorities decreed as ‘restricted areas’.
Iraq War veteran Adam Kokesh and young people from Code Pink were brutally manhandled during their arrests which were filmed and posted on Youtube soon afterwards. The exchange between Adam and a particularly aggressive overweight bicycle cop has since gone viral. (Click HERE to watch: http://t.co/llt8Mt5 )
Soon after they were released Adam set up a Facebook group with details of a repeat demonstration (scheduled for midday Saturday June 3rd) though stressed ‘THIS IS NOT A PROTEST! I AM NOT ORGANIZING ANYTHING!’
“Come dance with us! You don't have to risk arrest, you can dance on the steps outside in support or join us in civil disobedience in the memorial!” he said.
“The dancing will commence at EXACTLY 12pm! Don't forget your air guitars!”
The website also included details of demonstration possibilities for those unable to make it to Washington that day as well as an appropriate quote from classic defender of freedom Thomas Jefferson himself.
“Dancing is a healthy and elegant exercise, a specific against social awkwardness.” ~Thomas Jefferson.

Dance party to make people notice the recent ruling making it "illegal" to dance at the Thomas Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. and also the brutality of police against peaceful protesters on May 28, 2011 . . .’)
