Destined records are very proud to present the best of their catalogue from the last ten years with this bespoke digital compilation.

Thirty-one tracks showcase the musical retrospective with a selection of exclusive new remixes as well as all the originals mixed into two DJ sets by label owner Matt Schwartz. Matt has been the constant thread throughout the entire ten-year history with his touch being on every record the label has released and over this period has experienced numerous #1 records in the buzz charts and chart success both in the UK and Internationally.

Back at the beginning of this millennium, Matt decided that he would start his own label to showcase his own productions rather than the usual procedure of finishing a record and then searching for a home for it, which most producers at the time did. He decided to invest in setting up his own label; long before the current trend of ‘digital only’ labels. It wasn’t before long larger dance labels sat up and took note and in some cases waved their large chequebooks for some of the killer cuts coming from Matt’s studio.

The very first artist name that Matt used was the M’Black moniker, one that is still used today. This represented Matt’s more progressive or trancier sounds and the first release was ‘Day Dream.’ More recently however, ‘Heartbreak,’ collaboration with Nicole Davis, reached number 1 in the US Billboard Dance Airplay Chart and represented a significant achievement for this style of production. Over the following years there are other noteworthy pseudonyms Matt created such as The Drill, which represented the techier side of house, and Dada, which catered for the electro/ mainstream house audience. ‘The Drill’ became a massive hit in France and the rest of Europe and ‘Lollipop,’ a collaboration with Sandy Rivera and Trix, sparked a fierce bidding war in the UK resulting in Matt being able to further invest significantly in his Soho based studio. Matt has always enjoyed collaborating with other iconic producers and the list includes no other than MJ Cole under an alias called Unbalanced with ‘Earthlift,’ Jonny L as Firetruck with ‘Piano Mano/Burning/Majestic 12,’ Paul Harris of Dirty Vegas and Sam Obernik with ‘Stereo Flo’ as well as Rui Da Silva, Jo Mills and Steve Mac.

As a means to mark the anniversary of the label, Matt thought it would be a good idea to ask some of his friends, piers and up and coming producers to remix some of the back catalogue and some of these names include Felix Baumgartner, Mastiksoul, Rui Da Silva, Dean Newton, Steve Kaetzel, Jonathan Ulysses, Ron May, Damien J Carter, Ted Nilsson, Nathan C, Breakdown, Sidechains, Dubba Jonny and Loverush UK. There are a total of 15 new remixes as well as a bonus exclusive track Matt included with Mastiksoul and has already been supported by David Guetta called ‘Tasty.’ The package is completed with two DJ mixes mixed by Matt himself. One of the originals and one of the exclusive new remixes.

The Best Of 10 compilation will be available from Beatport and I-Tunes on 6th December 2010.
