Birminghams state of the art club Gatecrasher Birmingham is to celebrate its 2nd birthday in style. Just 2 years after opening, the club has ben recognised as one of the most visited and renowned nightclubs in the world!
Over 1million clubbers have attended the club since its opening in 2008 and with a string of awards under its belt, including MixMags prestigious Club of the Year and Best of Broadstreet 2008 and 2009, Gatecrasher continues to put Birmingham firmly on the map in terms of entertainment. After being described as the best club in the world by such superstar DJs as Swedish House Mafia, Roger Sanchez and Axwell, Gatecrasher Birminghams 2nd birthday is set to be a night to remember!
This month, Gatecrasher Birmingham is to host a special 2nd Birthday Party on the 25th September headlined by superstar DJ Erick Morillo who returns to the club for the second year. Morillo brings a spine-tingling episode of Voodoo Nights to Gatecrasher for the 1st time direct from Pacha Ibiza. There is very little, in the world of entertainment, that the talented Erick Morillo has not turned his hand to. He is a platinum selling artist and has topped the charts worldwide as the producer behind Reel 2 Reels hit I Like To Move It”. He has been responsible for a bewildering array of dance-floor tracks, under pseudonyms that include Minister De La Funk, The Dronez (a project alongside Harry Choo Choo Romero and Jose Nunez, which won the trio the Remixer of the Year” Award in 2001), RAW, Smooth Touch, RBM, Deep Soul, Club Ultimate and Lil Mo Ying Yang amongst others. Morillo has remixed everyone from Whitney Houston to Basement Jaxx, from the Sneaker Pimps to Macy Gray. He runs the legendary Subliminal Records empire and has collaborated with the likes of Puff Daddy, Boy George and the Audio Bullys.
Erick is known for his innovative ideas and sexy imagery, and this years theme is everything you expect from him. Inspired by black magic, tribal drums, aural potions and electrifying spells, for its second birthday Gatecrasher goes Voodoo. Voodoo Nights will see Erick sacrifice exotic beauties on the dance floor, and will feature amazing dancers writhing throughout the club to create an unparalleled atmosphere.

Gatecrasher Birmingham opened in 2008 following a 5 million, four month renovation programme headed up by internationally celebrated designer Cal Fortis. Since opening, the venue has become renowned the world over for its technologically advanced light and sound systems and awe inspiring interior design. Across the 4 clubs rooms, the venue plays all styles of music creating a club devised in Ibiza, designed in New York and built in Birmingham.
The club has brought glamour and decadence to Birmingham by boosting the citys reputation for entertainment and improving its economy. Gatecrasher Birmingham has already attracted a high-profile party crowd from across the UK, playing host celebrities including the Take Thats Howard Donald, The Editors, Pussy Cat Dolls, Pigeon Detectives, Fratellis, Lily Allen,and Dirty Pretty Things Carl Barratt.
After only 2 years in business, the club continues to evolve in line with music and fashion. Gatecrasher has recently remodelled and redefined its first floor club Bed tomeet local demand for a more underground sound and to cater for live music. Bed now features a new DJ booth, a new VIP area, the exclusive White Bar as well as a whole new makeover with brand new stylish decor. This room is now used for exclusive one off live performances from the biggest alternative bands around as well as the most upfront new talent. Gatecrasher Birmingham is also working alongside major record labels and promoters and will play host to the biggest album launches and festival pre-parties in the country.
Gatecrashers relentless dedication to world class standards continues. The club is also to improve service by adding new bars, upgrading the roof terrace and adding more toilets. In its quest for production excellence, Gatecrasher will upgrade Mansion with a new sound system and has imported a revolutionary state of the art full roof LED lighting system from Berlins infamous Watergate club. This is the first installation of this innovative lighting system in the UK.
Since it launched, the club has played host specialist music events and top flight global DJs and brands. Last month Gatecrasher launched the festival of Ibiza season, bringing over the biggest global dance brands and acts in the UK including CREAM, Pacha, Bora Bora, and legendary DJ LaidBack Luke.
Gatecrasher Birmingham continues to develop. Its Friday indie night Supersonic Vague is the biggest alternative night in Birmingham and has been host to big time DJs including Radio 1s Nick Grimshaw, The Whip, The Lost Prophets, Bloc Party,
