Bristol record label Hospitality is in town, and they are running tings proper. No stranger to bringing their well rounded sound to Liverpool, the label has been destroying Chibuku on a regular basis, with Welsh wizard High Contrast at the epicentre.
The man known as Lincoln Barret to border control and his mother has had a seismic impact upon drum n bass. Managing to showcase the rougher edges of the genre just as readily as the soulful touches, his stunning reworks of Adele, Eric Prydzs Pjanoo and the acid house classic Papua New Guinea by Future Sound of London represent his epic and glorious take upon the music.
He's joined by the indomitable Andy C, a man who constantly continues to stay at the top of his musical power and bring the full force to depth defying levels. Nu:Tone bring a soulful edge to proceedings, their mesmerising energy a fixture of the sounds that best showcases the fervent appeal of the Hospitality brand. Rising star Netsky and Nutone and Chibukus own soulful DnB doyen Paul McGuire round off the room.
Hospitality are also doing their thang in The Loft, adding two shades to the musical make-up for the evening. Sonic songstress Katy B – who is already commanding the airwaves as well as clubs all over the UK – headlines. The funk is helmed here by old school legends Shy FX, whose genre dexterity over the years has seen them drop rough and rugged jungle as well as chart topping smashes that play on American TV show themes. Joining him will be crossover experts Nero. The duo started off on the dnb tip, but have since shown their clout with dubstep too; their remix of The Streets Blinded by the Lights received serious rotation not just from scene stalwarts Skream
