We are very excited to announce details of secretsundaze's closing party for 2010. A lil later than usual, we were waiting for the right space to come good and it finally has....Venturing out to Hackney Wick for the first time we have found a beautiful spot called Stour Space. The venue really is fab with natural daylight flooding the space and it really having some great character and features. It's essentially a very warm warehouse space with concrete floor, exposed brickworks, skylights, beams and seated mezzanine / chill area.
Headlining will be none other than bona fide "legend" Kenny Larkin (Planet E). Kenny who describes himself as one of those "arty farty brutha's" is without doubt one of the most consistent of the second generation Detroit artists releasing great material from 1994 onwards. he has released album's on Transmat, Warp, R&S and of course Carl Craig's Planet E. His music and DJing has a unique combination of futuristic classic Detroit and jazz inspired soul. He has created numerous masterpieces but recent tracks like "Cirq De Soul" on Planet E and most recently his dramatic remix of Radio Slave's "I Don't Need a Cure For This" on Rekids have kept him at the top. On top of all these achievements he also finds the time for his other passions photography, architecture and umm being a stand up comedian.
For a little insight into Kenny's world check out this interview on the cool Slices DVD series and for something a lil more light hearted an improvised comedy set from a live show in Hollywood check the out the links below:

Our second guest is none other than highly rated New York based artist Fred P (Black Jazz Consortium / Soul People Music). Along with DJ Qu, Levon Vincent, Jus Ed. Fred through both his deft, subtle and sincere productions such as "New Horizon" and What's Up With The Love" and DJ sets that take in many shades of House and Techno (jus check his killer set on RA (http://www.residentadvisor.net/forum-read.aspx?id=108405) is carving himself out a truly deserved reputation as a serious artist with great integrity.
In keeping with our general policy this summer this party there will be no advance tickets available, keeping things tight.
