Today two of the UK's leading underground club promoters are proud to announce that they will merge company.
Dan Blackledge's Wax:On and Mark Newton & Wilf Gregory's Metropolis proudly join forces to launch Electronic Music Group Ltd. forming what already promises to be a company dedicated to keeping the UK club scene vibrant, forward thinking and exciting
With a series of road-block events and stellar music releases quickly filling the Autumn calendar, the new company will schedule, book and promote a range of events including Annie Mac presents..., Reclaim The Dancefloor Ibiza & UK, Hospitality Leeds, Cocoon Newcastle, Musicology Leeds an Jagerbomb, alongside new events under their own brands, Wax:On and Metropolis.
Barely off the mark the pair can already announce their first joint event, which will certify their reputation as two leading innovators in UK club event promotions.
On September 25th Leeds University plays host to what is set to be one of the best parties of the year and one of the biggest of it's kind at the venue. As a non-exclusive NUS event, the event welcomes non-students and all that attend will be treated to a line-up that includes a Calvin Harris DJ set, Andy C, Fake Blood, Benga, Toddla T, Krafty Kuts, Joy Orbison, Nero, Doorly, Redlight, Boy 8 Bit, L-Vis 1990, Roska, and Wax:On residents, Eskimo Twins.
Beyond September 25th, events of equal calibre are already being scheduled in with line-ups. Commenting on the companies’ ambitions Blackledge says “by joining forces we can expand on the large scale events making them bigger and better, whilst also really focusing more on the intimate ones like Wax:On every Friday at Mint Club and Musicology every Friday at the Faversham.”
Alongside their club night ambitions, Wax:On and Metropolis will also merge their recorded music and artist management interests. Electronic Music Ltd. label brands include Wax:On Music, Magicbag Music, and Metropolis Recordings and can now boast titles from Doorly, Turbo resident Matt Walsh, Eskimo Twins, Ado and Youandewan. Management and artist representation include Doorly, Eskimo Twins, Ado, Bowski, Youandewan.
